Besides that, the DS lacks the hardware+software to run GB/C games. Just download lameboy and load it onto a flashcart.

I rest my case. Or whatever.

I do know my stuff. And the protocol is exactly the same on the micro, how do you think the GBA reads GBC carts? And of course you can boost the voltage, I could boost it to 120v if I wanted to.

Bad communication...
As we both know by now it works on the GB micro. However, it does not work on the DS. I tried the software mode switch on a DS running GBA mode, without success. (And, I could add, I had someone try to enter GBA mode on a DSi, which also failed... :( )

Palmer, I hate to correct you, but the protocol is not exactly the same. In GBC mode, the cartridges are read differently; GBA mode can NOT read GBC games, and vice versa. That is why in the GBA and GBASP there was a small physical switch that activated GBC mode; this kicked it into GBC mode, enabling it to read the older cartridges. The only thing that's the same is the cartridge slot style itself.

Protocols may be implemented by hardware, software, or a combination of the two
Thats right, I am gonna be the poop egress who pulls out out of context wikipedia quotes to make me look smarter!

I know the GBA and GBC protocols are different, I was trying to say that the core of the GBA/SP/Micro has the same protocol for GBC, which is obviously different than that of the GBA. Perhaps a better way of putting it would be to say it supports both protocols.
