To ps3 or not to ps3?

The reason I swayed to the PS3 is primarily the controller. I have been using PS controllers all my life and I don't want to adjust to another one.

Thats actually one of the reasons I don't want a PS3. I dislike the feel of the controller (especially the lame "triggers"). I also dislike that the face buttons are flat, I find the "domed" buttons of the xbox/360 to be easier to use. But to each his/her own.

I'd try out a PS3 first, find a friend that has one, go to a store that has one you could play, etc. As a media center it beats the crap out of the 360 (unless you want to use the netflix instant download). But I'd say its probably equal to the 360 with games, it just depends on what you want to play.

And you'll for sure be able to get a PS3 and some games with all that 360 stuff, you might even be able to find someone with a PS3 that'll trade you, post an ad on craigslist if you want to go that route.

It boils down to the person. My hands hold the controller nicely, and the triggers are good if you don't apply too much force and slip. The buttons are comfortable, especially on heavy (but controlled) button mashing in Spyro the Dragon. Plus you don't have a ginormous 2xAA pack hanging at the back, just a small Li-Poly (Li-Ion?) battery in the controller that charges via USB.

Personally, I think the PS3's face buttons are more comfortable to use rapidly than the Xbox 360's. The 360's are too hard, I think. As for the triggers, they may feel a little strange at first, but after using them for a little while, they feel perfectly natural. Size-wise, I think it's just right, and this is coming from someone who preferred to use the original Xbox controller.

Why not compare games that are available for both systems, to see if one clearly has an advantage? Some games are better suited for less people per game, while others are centered around masses of people all at once. I'm not sure which category any of those games fall under (never played any of them, have played halo 1 and 2, though).
The way you're comparing is like comparing manual to automatic transmissions, but using different vehicles for each. You could easily stack the results, only using econo cars for the manual side and trucks for the auto side, then claiming auto's are more powerful. That is true for the data, but not for every vehicle.
I'm not saying you stacked it, I'm just interested in the differences but I don't want to find the data myself.

But then again, I could be dead wrong as I haven't heard much more about it than that.

max online certainly isn't the end-all be-all. just look at Left 4 Dead. only 8 people max, but its ridiculously fun. It all has to do what you're doing with those people.

Well, like I said, I could be dead wrong. However, if Xbox Live pays for dedicated servers, PSN gives them to you for free.

Developers have to pay to host their own servers on PS3, Sony doesn't host them like xbox live. My step brother has a ps3, but he doesn't really have any good games. Mostly just crap cheap ones. But I'll play it when I babysit regardless. I love the ps2/ps3 controller and the free online/wifi really appeals to me, As well as little big planet, warhawk, killzone 2,and the resistance series, some other titles also. if I were to sell it, what do you guys think its worth would be?

Like others, I'm not sure what the point of this is. Personally, if I was in a game with 59 other people I'd think it would be too confusing and too much of a chance for lag. But again, that's just me. Also, Perfect Dark Zero supports 32 players on Xbox Live, and I think there are a couple others that support that amount or more.

At least you can easily change the batteries in the 360 controller when they die though.

I know for a fact that Halo 3 doesn't use dedicated servers, and I don't think the GoW games do either. Those are pretty much the only shooters I play online, so I couldn't tell you about CoD or any of the other games.

There's some really good ones on there that I've gotten hundreds of hours of playing time out of, and I just feel like there's no way you could have beaten all of those. If you want some more games I'd suggest Bioshock, Fallout 3, and Oblivion. Yes, you can get them on the PS3 too, but you already have a 360, so why waste your time selling your old system. Unless there are some games on the PS3 that you really really really really want to play, I think it would be silly to switch at this point.

a lot I've played/beaten, I owned bioshock I sold it when I beat it. Fallout 3 I have for PC
