Need to build an audio amp, any help is appreciated

Hey i just dug up this old lcd screen which went to a ps1 (not the official screen, i think its interact) anyway, all i found was the screen and lcd controller board. i dont have any of the other crap thats usually with it, like the input/output boards and speakers. I soldered on power and ground and video and it turns on so i know it works but now i need some audio, i was thinking i could build a simple audio amp with volume control but there's so many different schematics online that i was simply lost, and need some direction. Thanks!

Don't need to make on; all you need is a small amp board from a small speaker which takes batteries and an on/off button - that means it has an amp inside. I mean MP3 mini portable speakers or similar. Cost hardly anything; open one up - small boards too, run off typically 6v although can use less. I use one to power large 8 ohm speakers from an MP3 player, works great!

There's a basic amp you can use. The 386 IC runs on anything from 4-17 volts, and you only need six parts, all of which are available at Radio Shack:

LM386 IC
10k potentiometer
250 uf capacitor
0.05 uf capacitor
10 ohm resistor
8 ohm speaker

Note that you need to build two of these if you want stereo sound.
