im doing it ON MY OWN!!!!! but with everyones help from here
so that says it. now the main thing im worried about is the casing. im using the original snes(since i have 2) hoping that i can find or design a case. i need all the tips and tutorials i can get. also could you use a ds screen instead of a playstation screen?i can get those for fairly cheep.
Just get a Zenith screen. Its the exact same as a PSone screen and a lot cheaper (normally). A DS screen will not work.

Yes he can. it's just like building a house by yourself, but asking for advice from everyone.bacteria wrote:You can't "do it on your own" "with everyones help".
He's still doing all the work, he just wants advice.

My Portable Systems:

-----Genimini---------Darth64---------Dreamtrooper--------Ncube---------Kamikazi64---N64Boy Advance
7.4 or 7.2 volt battery will do nicely. I'd say a 2500 maH MINIMUM. It'll run both the screen and the system. But you have to bridge the switch terminals (That way you can run your own switch).jrod899 wrote:ok the zenith will work lol but battery power is another concern i dont want to much to blow the mobo. what would be the best choice for this and also will i need the led mod for the screen?
If you want longer run time, rather than powering the system off the same battery terminals that you power the screen off of, try powering the system off one of the two 7805's on the PSone/Zenith motherboard.
IE: You run the batteries to the PSone/Zenith "+" and "-" terminals. Then solder from one of the 7805's on the back of the screen motherboard, to the location on the systems motherboard.
THUS: 7.4v or 7.2v to the screen. And 5v from the screens motherboard, to the system.
I hope I didn't just confuse you. I don't have a picture right now, but I'll take one of the SNESp I'm doing right now to explain it. No time right now. Good luck.
And don't mind Bacteria so much. He usually means well, and can be very helpful (And has helped me greatly in the past). He can just be a bit cynical sometimes.

For goodness sake, that was a humorous observation of an ironic comment. Have a sense of humour guys, I have; and don't have a pop!hailrazer wrote:Yes he can. it's just like building a house by yourself, but asking for advice from everyone.bacteria wrote:You can't "do it on your own" "with everyones help".

Its hard to tell that in text. We can't hear your voice and tone after all. Hence emoticons. I've grown accustomed to assuming that if its not tagged with a acronym (Such as lol, lmao, lmfao, rofl, etc.) or an emoticon, its usually (99% of the time), not a joke, and not meant to be funny. Please don't take offense at what appears to be a innocent misunderstanding.bacteria wrote:For goodness sake, that was a humorous observation of an ironic comment. Seriously, quit trying to answer questions you don't know anything about. There is NO WAY a SNES is going to fit in a ZN-40.simon66 wrote:Hey... if you want to buy a case you can buy one online at polycase.com
Is like $10 but is good, look for the zn-40 series, if you know how to make it smaller then use the ag-43 series.
PS. If your using a nes then is harder to make the slot positioning because is not soldered to the board.

Correction: They've done it with a SNES mini. Or at least LoB has. We're talking a standard version here. The big one, like what I'm using.schmellyfart wrote:Are you kidding me?!?Tibia wrote:

Life of brian has made two with the zn-40. And I think there are a few others that have too.

Whoops! Sorry.
Hey why don't we instate a line of code that only allows people to post once every 45 seconds. That would stop these accidental double posts. I've seen it done before, and know that different forum engines do it different ways, so I don't know exactly how to do it here, but yet I see how it would be useful.
And lets face it...If you are posting more than once every 45 seconds, you type way to damn fast, or you are posting something to small to be of importance.
