Any console screen?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Any console screen?

Post by Skiggy »

Hello, I found a nice auction on a screen on ebay and was wondering. Will any screen designed for the gamecube/xbox/ps2 work for making a portable?

Yes. But you should tell us the screen (not the auction link) so we can better judge if you should get it or not. I wasted plenty-a-dollar on screens that were really big and worse quality than the ps1 screen.

If it's a zenith screen, go for it. If it's intec, it may be very poor quality. They make some decent screens, though.

Go for a zenith screen or ps1 if you can. They're the most documented, and if you snag a deal, it's an amazing screen. If you don't it's still an amazing screen.

It was (auction ended :( ) that. Except it was 5.4inch size and designed for fat ps2 not slim.
