Still working on my N64p...
I removed the expansion card I wired up (there goes a bunch of work). When I power on the same thing happens - nothing! Oh well... I didn't really like where I had it placed anyways...
It IS an off-brand expansion card (Nyka, or something like that) but it did always work fine as far as I can remember... Though all I ever did was win Perfect Dark, never used that console for multiplayer.
I'v noticed a lot of the pins on the expansion pak/jumper pak are GROUND, like about 11 of them (they have via's going to the ground plane on the back) Can I just hook up one of them then to save wires?
I think I may swing over to the local game junk store and find another expansion pak... But I'm thinking it IS the expansion pack that's the problem...
To quote Milla Jojovovichjobicda (sp?) from 5th Element: "Pleeeeassssseeee..... heeelllpppppp?"

anyways, yeah one ground should be enough.
You could try the exp. card in a different n64 (which are oddly enough cheaper than exp. packs)
you know if you want a nintendo brand Expansion Pak you can still get them never used
nope not fixed

like I said before, it could also be that your N64 is fried somehow......try what gannon said, get a new n64 with an expansion pack in it, try it on your old N64, and if it still doesn't work, then use the new N64
.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

I just bought an expansion pak from the gamestore - an Official Nintendo Model.
Here's something - this one only has 1 chip in it whilst my off-brand pak had 2 (wired like they are on the N64) Strange...
Wow, the N64 has enough "passive heatsinking" to make an iMac blush!
I'll wire up this new pak and see if it works!
