for all you brits its called "fat tuesday" here and there is a big celebration in the cajun parts of lousiana (especially new orleans) they use it as an excuse to get totally excrement-faced drunk and do all kinds of things like women show their breasts for cheap plastic beads, really drunk guys pee in the streets and if you have ever been to Mardi Gras then you know about all the "adult activities" that occur in just about every dark corner with just about every combination of people you can imagine. then on "Ash Wednsday" you can not even tell there had been people there at all and everyone walks around in a guilty silence thinking "did really do what I think I did with those 2 guys and 4 girls in that ally last night"
