WRONG, B!7ches!
It connected through the cartridge port! The only other port on the Famicom was an external controller port, used for the light gun & Arknoid paddles!
By the way, whoever said the FDS was an NES peripheral...Man, It's the FAMICOM disk system, not the unreleased, never manufactured NES Disc system!
Sorry for going off, I just can't stand people giving false info!

Do you have anything to back you up?
Why wouldn't it work? I know that the NOAC's sometimes don't have 100% accurate emulation (usually 99.99%), but It should input & output identical code...

Hm, if anyone could settle this, it'd probably be Ben.
What are the chances of Ben replying in a thread like this?

How, pray tell, would Ben know?
And if you disable the lockout chip and convert the cart slot, you could hook a fds up to a nes theoretically. So don't freakin' tell me I'm wrong. I just look at it like a hacker, rather than common folk.

Wait, I'm confused. Are you saying a FDS will or wont work w/ a NOAC?

YO, I do happen to know if the FDS will work on the NOAC, and the answer is yes. The only iffy thing is that not all famicom slot noacs have the audio pin properly mixed in with the rest of the audio, and some don't mix that exteneded audio in at all. However, everything else should work fine. If you don't beleive me, ask psychotic mechanic (sp?) because he lives in Japan and knows these things and he can actually confirm them with real hardware. My info comes from much long research and experience in modding NES hardware and building many many many NES related projects. Unless there is some freak problem with your NOAC the FDS should be mostly compatible. the only thing is the exteneded audio, which I am currently working on with my own NOAC and my NES.

Well, here is the deal with NOACs. The chip itself is designed exactly the same for every single NOAC, because the pirates are too lazy to make different versions of the chip itself. However, some of the Chinese manufactuers did not keep the tolerances quite right when making the chip, and so some batches of the chip got messed up. Since these chip companies usually produce several thousand at a time to make it economical, I would not be surprised if an entire line of NOAC devices would be faulty. This is especially the case since the chip manufacturers probably only do the quality testing for about 3-4 sconds with a simple game, or don't test them at all. Newer devices like the Yobo and the Retrocon are much better manufactured and should not have any unusual problems.

What a NOAC lacked from what I've studied about it, is the lack of I guess, RAM...I don't know how to put it, but it's all one processor, and select NOACS, like the one that inlcludes games have maybe a little more processin g power, but it's all preset, all of it! Actually, maybe the EXP. meant Cartrid-, hmm, this is interesting, well, maybe I should look into this...
