cd not playing

I put an audio cd in my computer and tried to play but it didnt even show that there was a cd in the cd drive. I then tried it in my cd walkman and it worked fine. what is causing it to not work, and how do i fix it?

It's probably do to an old or dying cd drive.

yeah but the thing is i used like 12 cds before it and about 20 after it (i was ripping them for my ipod) and they all worked, but it doesnt even acknowledge that there is anything in the drive

does it spin the CD when you insert it? look for dirt or scraches on the CD it can make that happen to me....

what type of Drive is it? if it is a CD/RW drive then you probleby wore it out if you constantly try to copy majorly scratched discs.

It is a cd rw drive but i ripped it on another comp so its ok
