Ouch. Couldn't happen to a nicer company though. But hey, PS2 looked and played like crap compared to Xbox and people still bought it.

its the <i>inquirer</i> not the EN<i>quirer</i>. go to the main page and look at the stories. its comptuer hardware news. most of it citing reliable sources.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up, Timmeh. Well, it looks like Sony's going to have some problems this next gen, it seems like every day some news comes out that shows Sony's shooting itself in the foot.

Well if the Cell processor isn't any good that doesn't sound good for IBM. They were looking to sell that thing as the new standard for every little electronic device (cell phones, PDAs, ect.).

As for Sony, I'm not supprised. They went to an extreme effort to make the PS3 the mac daddy of the 256bit consoles. They went will newer and really consumer market place untested hardware. Either they were expecting the thing to run like a race horse on steroids or they were hoping that they'd run into no problems.

I have to say that Microsoft and Nintendo played it smart when they went with hardware not to dissimalar to the G5 Macs. It's tested, proven and I'm sure they're getting the chips dirt cheap now that Apple is moving straight to Intel.

HA thats a good one! have you noticed that the ONLY company making money in the last TWO (current and "next" gen) console cycles was/will be Nintendo! lets see, ps2 and xbox are 130$ and selling at a loss per unit while the gamecue is MAKING money at 99$.the wii will be a full HUNDRED dollars or more less than the competitor and make profit at that pricepoint while sony and M$ lose money on every system they sell. plus with this news of the ps2 being crippled and retarded and the xbox 360s lack of anyting really outstanding (woo shinyer graphics and remakes/sequals!) i would have to say the console that will dominate this console cycle is nintendos Wii

You know what's a good one Triton? Sayin there arn't any good Xbox360 games. Incase you didn't know, try looking at www.gamespot.com and reading some of the 360 reviews as far as games go. Hmm do you see any 9+ scores? Thats what I thought. Any ways, to get this back on topic, yes i think sony will fail miserably, and of corse nintendo will do good, they have a loyal army of rich 5-10 year olds to buy all there products

Well most 360 games I want are only pre-orderable, so I can wait and play my Wii while I do so

. The deciding factor for me will be whether the 360 gets significant Lucasarts support. Excuse my spelling DSL dosn't come with google toolbar and I am running it live.
