SNES w/o power.

Well I got a Mini today. here's what I did so far

1) Desolder controller jacks

2) Desolder on/off and reset buttons

3) desolder D/C jack

4) bridge on/off switch

And it doesn't work. it worked before, but nothing is going through the 7805 regulator. I have a steady 13V (from the SNES transformer) up until the regulator. between in and out I have nothing, and between the in and ground I have about 0.3V going through.

Would putting voltage through the SNES backwards hurt it? I'm pretty sure it's hooked up right though. (The A/C cord is a little confusing when chopped off.)

I'm pretty sure nothing's broken or anything, seeing as I really didn't do much to it other than take stuff off, so I'm looking for a very simple soution that I'm probably overlooking. Like plugging the power supply in the right way.

voltage in backwards shouldn't hurt it since it has a bridge rectifier on board. Have you checked the power switch?

Wait, I thought only the PAL snes had a bridge rectifier on it. Are you sure you didn't blow a fuse?

the snes is funky when i wired the wall adapter back on i got tons of interference so i ended up just wiring batteries up to the two spots i knew were + and - the 7805 and the ground strips
try wiring the wall adapter plug up like this i think it may help it helped mine

the voltage readings you took make no sense. .3v between I and ground? i thought you said there was 13? which is it... where does the 13 stop? at a fuse? if youre getting 0v between in and out it means that they are either at the same potential, or the regulator is broken.

too bad you THREW OUT your first broken snes, you could now be robbing it for parts

Tim fixed it. The fuse was blown.
