Cant desolder

A 45w soldering iron is not over-kill. It only takes a second for the solder to get hot and by the time it is you should be able to suck it up.

or you could use the soldering iron to melt the plastic but that can be dangerous and difficult

if that's what your gonna do, just use an exacto knife and teeter it back and forth while pushing down (but not forcing) and it should cut it easily with no shattering
