Could we start a PCp section on the forum?

i don't think a whole forum for PCp's would be very active but i like the idea of an "other" projects forum very much. as far as movies go, that's F42 stuff

If an "other projects" forum is created, we will still want a PCp forum after we produce a few PCp's. The "other projects" forum would prolly end up being diced apart.

Ya, I would really enjoy a Other Projects section. I've created tons of crap that doesn't fit in the other catagories. I was thinking we could add:

-Other Portables
-Electronics 101
-System Modding

Other Projects sounds good to me too...as for the PCp and the gumstix...unfortunatly, none of us know hardly anything about the gumstix. If a few of us did, then okay, we would have more information regarding this, but until then...there is not much resources to get that.

I think forum 42 is all spam and wasted bandwith. Most of the time its topics about pree-teens being antipubecent, teens being manic depressive, and everyoe else complaing about the "youngins'" Its hard to find the serious technical posts between the mass of PMS'ing.

Battery topics could go in "Other Projects" as well.

I know some stuff about the Gumstix, but they are too expensive for not enough power. My new top end Dell Axim x51v with 2 year accidental insurance will cost the same as all the parts needed to make a working Gumstix portable

In the long run, the Axim will be more powerfull. Granted making one would kick ass, and be fun as all hell, but i dont have time to do all of that, then explain to my g/f how to use it, and fix it when it breaks.

I'm sorry that an general dissuction forum isnt technical enough for you Foxx. The things is, is that this forum is just for goofing off (to a degree) in. You dont like what other people are talking about do what I do, dont read every thread and no one is forcing you to care about this Message Board.

And Misc. project forum sounds nice, I dont like the idea of a battery forum they are too much related to the project you're working one (perform a search).

And lastly the position of Forum 42 is far better then when this MB first started, the SNES forum was were we had general topics. Much better now wouldnt you say?

Forum 42 is the last place i check for posts . I dont care that its not a technical forum, but one cant say that posts about other technical stuff, like PCp and the like should go there. I dont care that F42 is for goofing off, but you cant expect to get serious technical help from a forum that has little technical talk. Im glad we finally have a Case Construction forum.

Other projects would be a good section, but it would get kind of weird with the huge variety of other projects. It may kind of turn into a forum 42, because so many different things would go there.
