He might, but he said it wouldn't have a screen so it's not really portable. But the screen attachment would be available.

The tradein for and NES (motherboard or NOAC) isnt going to be as much as an Atari 2600. But the best thing to do to see if Ben will take tradeins is to emai/PM/AIM him and ask.

As he seems to be looking for the chips themselves and not super joys on the main page, I don't think trade-ins will be plausible.

I want to use NOAC's and a custom PCB. So no trades.

If the whole thing is cheap enough I might ditch the "screen add on thing" and just always have a screen.

The idea is to make it like my NES Micro.

Well, if it's anything like your NES micro it will sell. I hope to see another great portable. (with no pressure issued to you)

My idea is for a cartridge slot (NO ROMS) and a $200 price tab, or less if possible.

I've gotten a lot of responses to my "request for NOACs" thing, so best now to sort through them....

Cool, your NES Micro is brillant. I really loved it, but the GBA Micro is a piece of crap, I played one and it gave me cramp in my wrists, you have to be about 2 years old to hold it. I mean SP was small enough but come on..

So are you gonna do it like the Phoenix, where you just wire the system up to a custom made PCB, or are you going to actually remake the NOAC PCB? You'd have to get a special NOAC if you're hoping to do that, since every one I have seen uses a glop top.

Not so sure about the screen add-on thing. It's another thing to lose (like those Game Gear batterie lids...), and it makes the design bigger and more complicated, allowing more things to break (connectors most likely).
But hey, you haven't failed to impress yet, so I'm sure you could do it and it would work great.
(It's kinda odd that I'm criticising the idea, since all my first portable units used a removabel screen  )

As for NOAC's to buy, ask gannon about his seller. He got a pretty good deal on a big stock.
