It just so happens that Mouser carries the correct type of spacers, you can even get ones that are prethreaded. You should be able to use their search and find what you need. And i recommend not cutting oversize spacers down. The cut tends to end up at an angle, throwing the alignment off.

I found another place to get the 4021 controller chips. Digikey carries them: Part Number: 296-2040-5-ND
With these you don't have to waste two NES controllers to build a Super Nintendo Portable.
And at 55 cents a piece its cheaper than two NES controllers, especially if you're also ordering the ...
