Thanks for the update. I ordered some LED's and expect them sometime next week. I guess I will start with the 22-ohm first.

Thanks, the site seemed to work well and verified my calculations.
It recommended a 22-ohm resistor.

I guess that is my answer, but if anyone used a 10-ohm resistor and followed that tutorial, I am curious to know if your LED's are still alive.

I will buy a few 10's just in case.

"the 3 LED's are running off of pin 1 (+) and pin 2 (-) with a however many ohm resistor (The pack came with 7.2V resistors."

From this sentence, it seemed like you just bought a pack of resistors and used one, regardless of rating. Sorry if I misunderstood.

Resistor confusion

I was reading the extreme-tech guide on modding the PSOne screen to use LED's.
http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,1765357,00.asp

The part that is getting to me is the resistor it says to use, which is a 10-ohm resistor.

Is that the guide everyone uses, and were there any problems ...

Is the pack specifically for the PSOne screen mod? What voltage are the LED's rated at, and what are the resistor colors?

If you are using the wrong resistor, the LED's might not be getting full power.

Having trouble with RGB and a PSone screen

Hello, I am trying to get my Dreamcast to work on my psone screen, but am having some trouble with the video. The screen stays on, but is always black.

You should also know that I am pretty new to this.

Anyways, I made a psone portable with a cardboard box case, and now want to take the screen out ...

a mobo + xp2600 combo is like $100. I would not get anything under 1500mH personally. I would browse prices online first. The last PC show I went to were asking for less than instore price, but more than online retailer price.
