Re: N64 Liuhu Edition

I'm pretty positive that the circuit of the controller is broken a bit. Because of that, my upcoming army and couple of other things I'm putting this on hold for some time. Don't be afraid though — I will finish this, but probably after army.

I are sorry.

Re: N64 Liuhu Edition

I tried to change some capasitors onthe controller board and add one as codeman suggested without any success. This is looking really bad and the only solution I can come up with right now is a new controller board. I'm starting to hate this project more as days pass by.

My next modding project ...

Re: The NEShuck

I checked and it only has five cords, because the manufacturer wanted to save couple of dollars. There's six contacts, but only five of them are used plus ground in the original controller (making it six), but atleast in this 3rd party controller there's five in total.

Re: N64 Liuhu Edition

Hey, I'm not dead. I just didn't have the motivation at all, but now I'm back.

The beast is almost ready, but now I encountered another freaky problem. The B and C up don't work for some odd reason. The voltage is only about 1 on both of those as it should be 3,3. Other buttons work like usual and ...

Re: The NEShuck

I have two long white cords from 3rd party GC controllers. They have six cords plus ground if I remember right. I could probably send you some for a namely prize.

Re: N64 Liuhu Edition

I just have to ask:
Where did you get the name Liuhu? I know it's from your user name, but does it mean something?
This is very hard to explain but I'll give it a try. Liuhuparta is a nomination for one person in one book. Parta is finnish word and means beard (which I don't have :P) and liuhu ...

Re: Portable Nintendo 64 Rumble (PN64R)

Yeah, the buttons are in their holes. It took more than five hours to get the front piece to that condition. I bought white plastic so I don't need to paint it. I like white.

E: I just tried to cram everything inside the case and it will be very tight in there. Looks bad because of the thumb stick ...

Re: Portable Nintendo 64 Rumble (PN64R)

Vacuum forming isn't that hard if you just have patience to make a solid box for it. Don't think it easy after that neither! Drilling the holes and sanding it down is really time consuming.

That's a staged picture with buttons in place with tape.

Re: Portable Nintendo 64 Rumble (PN64R)

I like your case design! Simple and clean. Is that case the result of your first try with the vacuum former? If so I am impressed.

Yeah, first time. The front piece is the first vacuum form piece ever by me. Next I tried to make the back, but didn't heat it enough so it weren't so good. Third was ...

Now I have completed the vacuum form box. Here you see that I used silicon in each connection so it's pretty damn air-proof! It's probably even water-proof. :b

Re: Portable Nintendo 64 Rumble (PN64R)

I will hopefully have this ready in about two weeks. Now I just need to do the vacuum form box and then the top and bottom piece for case and assemble the whole thing. I have sanded the molds (that tooks seariously too much time) and cutted some pieces for vacuum form. I'll cut more, if I don't get ...

Re: YAP64- Another Portable N64

I would recommend putting one R (right), one Z (left) and two L (both sides) buttons. In almost every case, you hold normally your fingers on R and Z so they are the main buttons.

Two L buttons? On both sides?! That makes no sense! You're going to have to explain it to me.

Well of course you ...
