and after you bridged the fuse - don't connect the battery again directly. You will need a step down regulator. Does the 7808 (or 7805 modded to function as the same) take 9V? I don't think so...

its only 7.4 volts and i think its 4200 mAhs

this is my first portable i'm working on and i bought a bt45 polaroid dvd player battery and i was testing everything so i connected it only to the psone screen and turned on the power switch and i heard a small poping static noise from the speakers and then it doesn't turn on anymore.

was it bad ...

This is a total pain-in-the-a*s job, but you need to check every fuse on the board with a multimeter and bypass the dead ones with a soldier blob.

i took my n64p off the battery and wired it up to the n64 adapter plug and pluged it into the wall socket and its still doing the same thing

I'm working on my portable and i have everything wired up together and I was working perfectly fine yesterday but now when i turn it on, the n64 turns on for like a second then turns off. I've been checking all my connections and stuff and I can't figure out what's wrong. Does anyone have any Ideas ...
