the problem with that is i want to simulate the n64 experience as you can only play n64 games on its origional controler not a mock one.

I have successfuly completed a mod for my NES, SEGA, SNES controller. Using an old keyboard for all three i soldered at the pcbs and they work.

However the n64 controller is leaving me stumpped i am having difficutly with the Digital stick, its similar to your average usb or serial track ball ...
