Well, I didn't get too many responses here. I went to Radio Shack today, bought one of their universal adapter jobs, and just put it on 9 volt. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't fry anything.

What about an NES 1 power adapter? I plugged it in for a few minutes and it worked. How do I find out what the polarity is?

Hey guys I have a similar question. I too have an AV Famicom but mine came with a power adapter. However, it says on it 100v, so I'm taking this to mean I shouldn't use it since we use 120v right? I also have an NES 2. My question is should it be ok to use the NES2 power adapter? It says 120v, but ...

Naw I didn't even trust myself to do it, I'd hate to waste someone elses money when I screw it up. It's given me so much more respect than I already had for the people who actually build these things from the ground up. All I did is switch 2 traces and I barely got it right!

I did it! I managed to fix the A and B buttons! As I had complained before The A and B buttons were swapped. Click the link for all my crappy pictures and the whole story.

Ok here are some pics: let me know if you have any questions. I forgot to take a picture of it, but the connecter comes perpendicular out from the main board and fits into a slot on the back of the case so it's sandwiched between them. Interesting idea, I wonder if it'll break off in time.
