Re: I want to build my own "Brown Box" (Odyssey)

Actually looked into this once. Problem is the transistors used are no longer being produced. You will have to find an equivalent.
Hurm... darnit.

Suggestions? Or was the unavailability of a substitute why you gave up?

Darn it. I already got myself all pumped to give it a try.

Re: I want to build my own "Brown Box" (Odyssey)

Hey! Wow... thanks for the nice, quick replies!

I'm aware of what the Brown Box can do... and that's part of the point. I already have a 360 to play games on... this is just for the fun of building.

Thanks for the links. They will be devoured with a healthy appetite!

Do you think Baer would be ...

I want to build my own "Brown Box" (Odyssey)

Just to cut off criticism, yeah... I'm asking because of the Angry Video Game Nerd... but this was a project I'd been considering for many many years (along with building my own radio).

The question being: Does anyone know of a source for schematics, or a part list for building a "brown box ...

Silly me, I expected it to at some point start being music, and stop being pointless noise.

I used to have a little casio keyboard that I could set to "alien noise" mode, and make sounds just like that.

Am I a musician now?

Am I the only one reminded of this?

What are you talking about? Thats my video. It was shot using split screen, and I was both boxers. I shot the first part of the video, gained a hundred pounds, died my hair black, pretended to suck, and shot the other half.

J/K

Cool video though.

Freaking amazing man...

I'm leaning towards using wood to make my case once I get around to this... but even the amazing case I have in my mind... that I wouldn't be able to actually pull off... isn't as nice as the piece you've successfully created.

Just... wow...

Its not just like... out there ...

That was my exact thought when he said "when I touch this spot, it clears up".

Maybe run a connection between that spot and a ground?
