Well, i got a closer look, and i'm not totally sure that it's a 7805, but it sure looks similar. I drew a picture in paint.

It has it's own power source. Why it doesn't just take it from the 5 volts boggles my mind.

Well, i got my screenpad and took apart the screen. It consists of an LCD, a board for the LCD, a board for the dials, and a couple of speakers. I couldn't get it all the way out because there's a capacitor blocking one of the screws(i'll try to carefully bend it out of the way tomorrow), however ...

Sorry if my picture was a little wierd, all the batteries i'm using have the same voltages and amperages. I originally drew that picture with two sets of batteries and put the overall voltages for each set then put the blue line for my question. I'm just unsure of how Amp hours would be effected by ...

Battery Wiring

Alright, could i take 2 pairs of NiMH AA's(1.2V 2000mAh) wired in parallel, then wire the two pairs in a series and then put those in series with a series of four of the same AA's? If so, how many Amp Hours would i end up with? Here's a link to a diagram-ish thing:

Ya, I just thought of that as I was reading about how it works in the Atari. Thanks for clearing that up.

I'll probably buy one in a few days and relay what I find out. If nothing else I geta cool pad out of it, right?

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand how it using a 7805 would be helpful. If it does use one, then wouldn't that make it even more of a problem? Sorry, I just read some stuff on the 7805 and I'm fairly new to the whole electricity scene(but I'm learning.)

I was looking at the Screenpad the other day for my own project, and much to my dismay its plug says that it needs twelve volts(it uses its own ac adaptor)! Is there still some way to make it viable for a PSp without using a whole crapload of batteries, or is it out of the question?
