I think I've found myself a solution that would be fairly cost effective. The 2 (5") PS2 screens I've seen on the market are TFT and designed to have a 640 by 480 resolution (providing controler and adapter for the screen), so in theory I should be able to hotwire it to the laptop screen. You need a controller card for the LCD. Can the PSTwo output VGA? There's a fairly cheep $75 controller for VGA that could work with a laptop panel.

Yeah, I've done some digging around online and took another look at the cable to the screen. I'd have to get a cable to convert a PS2 signal to VGA ...

I'm going to be trying something similar with a slim PS2 and an old Thinkpad laptop - gut the old lap-top and mod a slim PS2 to make a fairly portable PS2 with a "large" screen.

My biggest concern is hooking up the monitor ribbon to the slim PS2 (which I have yet to pick up). Has anybody ever ...
