i tried to do this exact same thing with Sega Saturn boards several years ago.

well, does anyone want to give it a shot? i'd be willing to send it if someone with more expirence than i was willing to try to fix it.

i figured i'd just buy a sony LCD that died in a different way (ie cracked LCD) and see if just swapping out the screen with a working motherboard might be worthwhile.

i tried jumping the fuse marked P1. no joy.

i get no back light or anything. what i'm wondering is, since the only part that smelled burnt was the motherboard, is it possible that the actual screen is fine, and that i just need another/replacement motherboard? if so, does anyone know where i could ...

was testing out my PS2 RGB output on my PSOne screen when something shifted and the ground metal of the screen touched something on the PCB. Light went out, small burning smell as i unplugged the screen.


i tried to plug it in a few minutes later and got sound out of my psOne, but no video ...

I played about 20 mintues on dynasty warriors 3 and i did feel like the screen was kinda tinted green. reset and it felt more "normal"

wonder if that was just my eyes playing tricks because you said something or if it was legit, so i'm trying it again.

interesting....didn't notice...will have to check that out....though if you are talking about Macrovision, it's disabled in my machine. And once i changed output from component to RGB, i had full color.

i'll turn on the system now with a game and let it go for a bit to see.

i found the included wires to be too short to really do anything with, but it worked well enough and looked beautiful.
