I figured it was probably possible.. however how "affordable" or "probable" was a factor...


first idea for use is just to use it as a door monitor- seal it ina weatherproof case, hang it outside my door, and when someone rings the bell I can just take out my DS, see who it is, if its some stranger ...

Alright.. lets just get right to it, I don't know if it was the chili-cheese dog before bed, or my imagination gone nuts.. but heres what went on.

In my dream I had my NDSl (nintendo DS lite in case you didn't know) and I used it to control a camera set up in my house, the D pad moved the camera up ...

I have numerous things laying around... that seem to just be collecting dust.
These things include a laptop, n64, tv, vcr, dvd, atari and branch off to a no- power/cords dreamcast to and old stereo.

Now... I want to play with the laptop... but Iam rather stumped on ideas... I'd love to turn it into ...

Well i don't just have a think pad either- it was just the one I was thinking on using- I actually have 3 laptops- a Thinkpad (A31) A toshiba, and I forgot the make of the older one- its very very old. dates back when 500 mhz was great.


and these cruddy screens aren't going to be for portable ...

I refuse to believe you under the simple fact there has to be a way- maybe not affordable or practicle- but a way none the less- to convert it into such a device.

I have an old IBM thinkpad layin around, and my desktop monitor is old and failing (V and H synchs are failing, lovely distortion in right corner, colour augmenting) so I was wondering.. is there a way to crack open the laptop- build a new "stand" for it, and use it to make my own LCD monitor?
