As far as I can tell though, there's no button on the controller for the whammy bar

Hang on a sec... The xbox controllers all use USB right? Wouldn't it be possible to rip the transmitter out of a keyboard or mouse and just stick the receiver into the USB port?

Does anyone know how hard it'd be to combine a wireless controller with the guitar for the xbox 360? I love GH2, but the cord can get in the way passing the guitar around during parties.
