Yo man, I made one of these yesterday and you put the wrong USB part onto the end of it. You need to put a female usb cable onto it, not the male as you have done. You cannot connect a PC to XBOX via this method. The only other ways I can think of are:

I had that problem once, tried a couple of media players and no change...
I think it has something to do with a driver being messed up, but when I reinstalled windows, the problem was gone.

And yes, I reinstalled itunes, wmp and vlc before that, I'm not a complete idiot... Sometimes. Hope thats of ...
