Well I tried the modifications and still get nothing but a black screen when powered up. Dunno what else to try.. I don't want to throw this thing out but then again I'm starting to sound like a hoarder!!! :)

Ok I may try the cutting but don't really want to but then again what do I have to loose... Another thought I had was to open up the Hang On/Safari Hunt and noticed the chip to be a
28 Pin MPR-10137. Can I not try replacing this chip with the MRP-10052 or is this just crazy talk?

I'm unfamiliar with ImageShack. I'll look into it and post the images since looking at the page you gave me, I couldn't really be certain of the exact pin as it doesn't mention the bios specifically. I did notice the I/O chip is the same as mentioned on the page.

How can I get the pics to you? I took 6 of them and they are a total of 1.4 Mb. Every pic I try to add it either says too big or quota has been reached...
