I use the Radio Shack Ipod system. It's $24 but it is loud and sounds great. Has a power switch, potentiometer and power led. And it is pretty small once you get it out of it's case.

The stretch is not noticeable at all. Maybe if you got a really big screen like a 7" screen, it would be noticeable, but definitely not with the 4.3" screen.
