Mr. aize, unfortunately you don't state where you're from. But I can see a bag of Hula Hoops chips in the back. So that means you're from UK, right?
So it's safe to assume you got a PAL SNES console?
If you do then you should add a 10 kOhm resistor between Vcc and the clock line and another 10 ...

Re: 2 Controllers Into 1
No no, you don't need another IC. The IC you've bought already got 4 different NAND gates and we're going to use 2 of them.SweBjorn wrote:So I need to buy 1 more of the one I just bought? How would I connect them together?
Just connect the wires as shown on the pic and you'll be fine =)

Re: 2 Controllers Into 1
Relax =)
If you feed the result of the NAND gate into another NAND gate then you'll have an AND gate. That's just what is shown on the schematic. The IC you ordered is the right one

Re: 2 Controllers Into 1
Have a look at this picture:

You can tie together all the wires that got the same color EXCEPT for the data wires. You have to connect those 2 wires to the 7400. The result goes into your SNES console. Use the brown and white wire to provide power to the 7400 IC ...

Re: 2 Controllers Into 1
Don't use the setup shown on your (first) pic. That's probably gonna damage your controllers when one controller is driving the data line high and the other one low.
You also don't have to mess with the console itself. Just connect the data wires from the 2 controllers to pin 1 and 2 and the data ...

The controllers have 5 different wires inside the black wire. Are you saying all of them should go into the same port, connected together?

Re: 2 Controllers Into 1
Disregard my previous advice. The buttons in the SNES protocol are active low, so you'll need to use a NAND gate instead. Something like a 4011 or 7400.
Hmm, but if it's active-low he'd need an AND gate, wouldn't he? Or two NAND gates.
What a crazy idea! :mrgreen: I'm curious how this turns out ...

Re: PIC N64 Controller
Blurry but very neat
I don't see a clock source. Do you use the internal oscillator?
I wasn't even able to read out the N64 controller with the internal 8 MHz oscillator of the AVR MCU. It seems the internal oscillator of the AVR is way too inaccurate...

No problem, here's the code for speaking to the N64 console: (but not including the wireless and button conversion stuff)

Re: Wireless N64 controller?
Sorry no, I don't plan on releasing the source because source code documentation isn't complete AND it's mixed in english/german
Tidying up the documentation would cost time & effort...

Re: Wireless N64 controller?
Hi Guys!
I just wanted to let you know that I made a wireless N64 controller: :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlnmfaILCHw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It works great, but no rumble-/memory pak support.
The mod is really easy to do if you use the case of a rumble pak. Then you ...
