controller question

Hey i m working in me second portable and planning to make it smaller.
I noticed that on the board i have now there is no u8 chip,
So kinda wondering where i should connect the controller ?

It has 4 smal chips instead of the u8 it is a rev 2 pal board.
I can post pictures if needed.
