Yes it has to be an Adaptoid, unless retrousb actually finish their drivers.

Reason I want one, is because it supports Mem Cards/Rumble/Transfer Pak. And it is the only one to do so efficiently.

Retrousb released one, and from the information I've collected they haven't completed their drivers ...
