Yeah I agree, the gold part isn't for transfering information ans as long as you dont cut anything important you should be fine.

I think you should replace them just to be safe, my friend and I used pentium 133mhz 3/4" heat sinks taken from... well you can probably guess that. What we uesed to cut them: hacksaw, wd40, clamp, unbelieveable amount of energy, but they came out good.( not recomended to be repeated ) Radio shack ...

Yes, if you ran those in series and ran more batteries in parallel along with it.

2. minimum voltage and amperage for powersupply on 3.3 and 12v lines
