Questions about recycled parts

Post by littlemal »

I got a broken cd player opened it up and found a few parts in it i thought i could put to use in the Psone project. Specifically i found tact switches, but i don't know what size they are or even if they work. Is there a way you can tell :?:

any kind of tact switches will work, but if you're using the book than only certain sizes will fit correctly

Dude, why do you have so many threads? I would ask all my questions in one thread.

Connect to opposite diagonal leads!

For example:

AB
CD

Then connect wires from A to D, or from B to C.

On pin 'B' you would solder the command, say 'R1', then on 'C' (diagnol from 'B') you would solder ground. It's always command, then diagnol from it ground. Thank you, please come again.

There are 4 leads. Two pairs are connected. The diagonals are connected when you press the button. I think there's 4 leads for stability purposes.
