I'm new to these forums but I'm pretty sure that if there's anybody who can help me with this problem I will find them here.
So, I have this PStwo lying around since about one year, which I've bought really cheap being broken at a flea market. The broken solder joint on the power plug was easily fixed but back then I did not have the time to work on it any further and maybe portabilize it which I've already had in mind. A few weeks ago I decided to give it a new chance and noticed the standby and power LEDs were not working. As the ribbon cable to the reset board was looking pretty messed up I thought a new one would probably fix this and I bought one together with some other awesome stuff from divineo.es. With the new cable installed it turned out to actually be a loose contact on the plug of the motherboard which was causing the problem and brought me to make a big mistake. I jiggled the ribbon cable with metal tweezers while - shame on me - the PStwo being powered on. I must have shorted the contacts at the end of the ribbon cable with my tweezers because the PS blacked-out instantly and now does not turn on any more. It still draws the standby current of about 20-30 mA but no other signs of live at all.
Does anyone have an idea which component I might have fried or what else I could try to resurrect that thing?
Thanks Peter
