Desoldering?

Ive heard a lot about de-soldering. How is it possible? What occurs in order for you to be able to do this? Im feeling very curious :?

Well the basic priciple is to melt the solder then either pull the part out while the solder is still molten or suck/wick/whatever away the solder.
