Noob Attack! XD

Post by Robbie Nekoda »

Yeah, it's me again. But this time I'm in business!

I've got a Mega Drive, a handheld TV (Broken but screen is intact) and a radica, along with soldering iron, desoldering pump, screwdrivers, etc etc etc. Now, I am an absolute ULTRA NOOB, and I need to know how to put them together to make a portable!

Come on, you were noobs too once. ;)

All the information regarding this has been posted before, you should search for it. The Radica's pinout for connecting to the cart slot is avalible in the Download section of the site.

Yes, but so far the knowledge has been too advance for me. Like I said, I am a COMPLETE beginner - it just took me 15 minutes to resolder one wire. I need to be told FROM SCRATCH. :P

One thing you should do is to get a old scrap circuit board and learn to solder using that...

15 Minutes on one wire would damage the board.

Hopefully I haven't broken the tv then. :(

Come on people, help a guy out!

The plan is to start by making an Exodus with your help, then buy the book and make, in order, a NESp, SNESp, PSp and PS2p. And then, under my own steam, a GCp. It's a year-plan. :P

we are helping you out. like was said before, you need to practice some soldering on scraps and then come back once you're a little better.

^ That was a tough one.

Really, go and get maybe an old PC card or a broken stereo reciever (people give them away on the sides of the road, or try Goodwill) and practice soldering on that. Just don't try using the board from a real CRT TV, because they hold lethal voltages. LCD TVs (like your pocket one) are OK.
