Which Screen is Right?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Which Screen is Right?

Post by mmoshkowich »

I am starting my first handheld :D and I am having trouble finding a lcd screen  . I'm generally looking for one that is 2.5" to 4". I really want a 3" one but I would settle with the other sizes.

Can you guy's help me and tell me a few types of lcds I could get and where to get them!

Thank You

psone screen is a 5" not to your liking, but much better and eaiser to find
than something 2.5 to 4" it will probably be around $40-$60.

Other than hipgear/intec pad screens and PSone screens, there aren't a lot of common small cheap LCDs. Something around 3" would probably cost more than a PSone screen, but if you need small, there are lots of options on ebay and other places online.

On DX, the pustom 3'' screens are only $45 or so. Free shipping, and they're very nice screens.

and you could always use a pocket tv and mod the screen. they are always between 2 and 3 inches. They've lowered in price on ebay, around $30 shipped.

Been meaning to comment on this one :

DON'T BUY IT !

It has no audio at all. And it also has no way of adjusting color/contrast/brightness or anything. NOTHING !!!!

Basically it's a piece of crap.
