Translated games?
Ok today on the bus some kids from the computer shop were telling me that there was a company out of england that translates games from ps2 to xbox gamecube to ps2 and all of that. I think they were pulling my leg but they normally dont lie so i thought I'd look it up online well i cant find it and I want to know if its true and if anyone has a link to the place they do this at. If you do please post it I think everyone would like to see it it'd be cool playin games from other systems on yours like xbox games on PS2. I really doubt it exists becuase id probably know about it by now but i figured it was worth a try.
P.S. they said they had halo for ps2 thatd be cool but its hard to believe.

They're lying. Simpily put, it would be increadibly hard to do, and also it is impossible to make GC discs if your not a big publisher/company.xxxeagle wrote:Ok today on the bus some kids from the computer shop were telling me that there was a company out of england that translates games from ps2 to xbox gamecube to ps2 and all of that. I can't see any way to translate XBox-only titles to NGC or PS2. Primarily because games meant only for XBox are built around a 733MHz processor, where the other 2 systems have speeds approximately half that....second, the XBox ships with 64MB RAM.

Warranty-Voiding fun!

It would also take a matter of YEARS for each game....and the number of levels is based on the storage space, which would be about Equal dince PS2 and XBox both use DVD. The Processor and RAM would determine how fast and well the game ran.
The games would have to have completely different polygon counts and programming languages, even.
They might as well code their OWN games if they have the tools for that.

xxxeagle wrote:well they were telling me that the games had less levels and are more glitchy. Also they said that they re wrote them its not like they have a program that does it. but then agian its probably not true becuase we'd find out by now but hey who knows.

Well if the company knows what they're doing.... For example Sega's PSO was orginally on the Dreamcast, then shorly afterwards it was on the computer, then the dual release of it on to the Xbox and GameCube. Yes I know they didnt have to make that many changes to porting it from the PC to the Xbox, but they had to have done some major work to get it over to GameCube as thats a completely different processor type. Also take note that Sega may have had what about 18 months tops (most likely barely a year) to port the versions of PSO.
As for their comment on having a Halo on PS2, ask to see it. If they say they cant you've forced them to reveal the truth.
And lastly about rumors.... Whats that old saying?.... "Dont believe all of what you hear and only half of what you see".

I am a geek.
yeah. but sega has the actual source code and they are professional programers, besides the fact that since they are licencees they have the programing tools for tha game consoles. there is no way (at least an amateur attempt) would do that. in my opinion they are pulling your legSega's PSO was orginally on the Dreamcast, then shorly afterwards it was on the computer, then the dual release of it on to the Xbox and GameCube.
