Megadrive Game Attempt

Post by Unidentified Assilant »

SINCE you won't make a Megadrive forum, I had to post about my new Megadrive game in progress here!

Anyway, as you just read I am making a Megadrive game, I won't tell you anything about it until it is released, but, I ain't very good at coding at all, has anyone got any hints?

It uses a 68000 main processor and a Z80 sub processor.
Warranty-Voiding fun!

don't bother...

have you even made anything for the PC yet? that is the easiest thing to start out with...

don't even bother trying to make something for a console as your first project, it is INCREDIBLY complicated...

but if you ahve your heart set on it, get a GP32 and start coding for that.

Your keeping in mind that the Atari 800 was a computer and had very little difference from the 2600? Going to work with something like the Genesis isnt the wisest thing to do. I'd say first experiment with programing for 68k processor first and once you know enough to be confedent, go for the Genesis.

Really you going to program for the Genesis without and expericance is just like me, I have no knowlege of programming at all. I'd like to do something with the Sega CD but you need to learn and apply the basics first before you go into the more pro stuff.

If anybody has heard of the Games Factory then... I have made a ton of PC programs for that, and countless weapons and mods for Unreal Tournament and other FPS games.

but were those programs actually programmed line by line, or did you use a wysiwyg type app?

no, those programs didn't need anyone to have any coding skills at all, I just don't like making PC games very much, but BASIC looks easy to master.
