Ahhh!!! I get video, yet i dont get video!!! PSOne Screen ??

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Ahhh!!! I get video, yet i dont get video!!! PSOne Screen ??

Post by imapaintballa »

I have my Psone screen connected to the n64. Video goes to video, audio to audio, and ground to ground. The n64 works and is not fried. I get the display on the PSOne screen, so i know it works. Whats the deal? I connected my Sony cam to it, and i get that video, Im just wondering if theres something up with the composite circuit. Please help! Thanks.

ok, more detail first. Are you sure that you connected the video wire to the video input on the PSone screen?

Also, did you connect the camera to the N64, or the screen?

and when you say you get the display on the screen, I assume you mean that the PSone screen turns on fine :?.

if everything is wired correctly, then it should work. If not, try tracing the video to a small component under the 7805 on the right part of the PSone screen board and make sure it's not shorted and that the video is reaching it.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Just to make sure, are you trying to put composite into the connector that hooks to the PSOne, or the traces that connect to the 4 ring plug dedicated to composite in? The connector that goes to the PSOne screen is only for RGB and audio to the screen (the rest of the pins just get passed through to the rear connector, including composite video).

the small component is some smt capacitor or something. Just make sure that you didn't rip the little trace off and that the video line is connected to that smt cap. To find out where it is, just trace the video line to it :P. Use a multimeter it the trace isn't destroyed.
