How much did that bass cost ya? I could imagine it not being very cheap...
As far as the pickup, I'm not entirely sure which EMG model it is, but it also has a Piezo pickup in the bridge. With both of them together, you get incredible range, especially when paired with a good amp. It's worlds better than my Thunderbird that I used to play.
Any of you guys considering a Steinberger, go buy one, NOW! Almost all of the guitar models are available on Musiciansfriend, they start at $400. The basses are more difficult to find, except for the high end ones.
