on a side note. i got my case mold back today and its the size of a psp with ~1/2-3/4 of an inch added to the bottom that slant inward so its not a box
hoping to get the smallest snesp yet
sounds like you're ordering the case mold how is that happening? Or am I just crazy.
nah my moms friend has a bandsaw and router so he cut my mold out of wood and beveled the edges
the NOAC, honestly nothing, i'm only interested in having a small snes mobo here
coulda gotten this thing to be ~4 1/2 x4 inches if i didnt go with the 3.5 inch screen
my goal is to have the smallest snesP made from a snes mini not one of these! according to my measurements i could get it down to 5.5x5x1.25 or less if i do something different with the batteries
I got my FC Twin today. Overall, VERY happy with the SNES part (havn't really checked NES compatability). This thing is dead on. No graphic problems, and sound is perfect from what my ears can tell. It worked with every game i have that has special hardware, including:
Tototek flash cart
Far East of Eden Zero
Yoshis Island
Starfox
Starfox II (homemade from Stunt Race FX)
Street Fighter Alpha II
Star Ocean
Kirbys Dream Land 3
Doom
Megaman X3
As well as all the "normal" snes carts I tried.
The ribbon cable looks like almost all of the pins bypass the NOAC board. You can see the RGB lines easily. Im going to take this thing apart in the future and trace all the usable pins to the SNES board (ie: power, audio, RGB). Hopefully someone will beat me to it. I want to make another SNES portable out of this, but I really need to finish my other one first. Im looking forward to see what cool portables people make out of these.
the whistles during the chocobo sequence right after the first time figaro? goes under the sand. they didnt sound like whistles more like beeps. there are more odd sounds from that game that didnt play right.
grahf wrote:Awesome. The cxa1145 isnt the greatest encoder, which explains the crap composite picture. The good news, is you can easily tap into the RGB lines since they are right there. But you are right, for a portable it probably wont matter. Unless of course you want to use something like a PSone screen, in which case using the RGB would be awesome.
Would it be possible to replace it with a less crappy encoder?
Yeah, I got mine a few days ago. It's awesome. The controllers it comes with, not so much. That's why I'm taking the plug off of one of them and attaching it to an old NES controller, cuz I heard on GameSX that it would, in theory, work. So, if you've seen the inside of one of those cheapy FC Twin controllers (where I got the plug), could someone tell me which wires on the NES controller to attach to the wires on the SNES plug?
Okay, let me make sure I understand this correctly.
One FC Twin + Two PSOne Screens = One SNESp and One NESp, no additional major parts required (although you'll have to come up with a solution for batteries and a way to turn composite into RGB?)
If my calculations are correct this sounds SUPER EXCELLENT.
