nobody would guess an already fairly portable system. something that came with pleanty of problems to fix.
one of the more portable nec units. like a coregrafx with CD2 attachement. Or any number of korean turbografx clones.
or the atari lynx. that had tons of problems and (it feels like) a lot of extra space inside. I doubt that video is close to standard, though.
come on, who doesn't want to portablize this:

MM007, concerning the Vectrex - yeah, you're right, you can't run that on an LCD (duh). However, you could make a portable emulator - not really the most original idea in the world, but hey, what can you do. The Vectrex is one of the great classic video game systems - but much of that is lost if you don't have a vector display.

He's prolly gonna make the worlds greatest portable Dreamcast.
To quote an interview with him I did for school:

Code: Select all
Jeff: What consoles are you considering making portable?
Ben: Um, none right now. Concentrating on the Phoenix. Though I get asked A LOT to do a Dreamcast.PS360Wii Fanboy FTW!
I imagine its some old computer, whether that mean atari or Commodore or something. Maybe an MSX.

ok, I finally read this thread again, and I'm even more confident that it's an Atari 800 based on what Ben said. It probably uses a 12 volt input, but uses our favorite 7805 regulator, allowing it to work with a 7.2 volt battery. As for the screen, I know that he once said in a chat about a year ago that he wants to build an Atari 800, but can't find a big enough screen. Granted, he did say once that a PSOne screen isn't big enough, but they are nice screens with a good resolution, and he may not have known it before.
