Same here, including getting the first one from the grandparents. My Century gets decent enough mileage (27ish average), 400+ mile range, smooth ride, plenty of power, and acceptable acceleration. Very comfortable for longer trips because of the room, the A/C and heater are fantastic (old people demand it!), and dual CD player tape deck with surprisingly good stock sound system.

your 91 plays tapes and CDs? Mine doesn't even have a cassette player. just radio. Or did you add those in?

Nope, they are factory-installed stock. Haven't used the tape deck for anything other than a pass-through for my mp3 player though.

Edit: correction - the 91 had just a tape deck. My 2003 has the dual setup.

I wonder why they didn't stick the tape deck in the 92 then.

Can't drive yet but I will probably end up with our 1996 Chevy Blazer LT. Forest green with a nice tan leather interior. 177,000 miles, we went to California twice (from Connecticut) and to florida more than five times. I've slept at least a week in that truck
i had a 95 GMC jimmy once, still have it actually
ImageImageImage my dad has a 97 blazer now, they are great vehicles until you total them

How'd you total it? It appears to have rolled over, but "mine" has a great radius and we can make sharp turns without inkling of traction loss. Also, would you happen to have the rear, passenger side window switch cover? When I was 6 I "accedentally" broke it with a screwdriver. I'd pay for shipping.

I walk everywhere lol

My brother and I have an Oldsmobile though, I just haven't even gotten temps yet because I really don't care about driving. Anyone else here 16 or older without temps?

I didn't even get my temp until I was 18. A month later, I got my full. I wasn't interested in farting around with the stupid graduated system, so I just waited. Driving's kinda "meh" to me.

No pics, but I've got an '03 Cavalier I bought new six years ago. It'll be paid off completely this fall, with less than 32k miles on it. Now if only it didn't suck so bad.

And how are your accident rates?

Up here where we have a two year minimum graduated licensing system, we don't have FIFTY NINE VEHICLE PILEUPS

The sad thing is, I didn't even have to try to find that. And it happened this year.

I'm guessing a "temp" would be the same as the permit you get when you're 15.

You can only drive with a parent in the car?
Why is it that every time I post in a thread, it dies?

Here in MA you can get your permit at 16 (I did), then license at 16 1/2 if you take driver's ed classes, which include classroom and instructed driving lessons. You also get a break on your auto insurance if you take driver's ed here. (Yes you have to have auto insurance here in MA. We have the world's second crappiest drivers. Rhode Island has the worst, and they come here all the time because we have lower sales tax. Add on top of that all the old people who can't see or react well enough to drive safely and people who'd rather play with their phone/SatNav/iPod/cheeseburger than pay attention to the bloody road... )

The licenses are restricted like this:

16 (learner's permit): No driving at night, you have to have an adult over 21 with 5 years of driving experience and a valid license riding shotgun. (They don't necessarily have to be related.)
16.5 - 17: No driving at night unless you have to have an adult over 21 with 5 years of driving experience and a valid license riding shotgun.
(Up to this point you're not allowed to carry non-supervisory passengers who aren't immediate family regardless of who's supervising you.)
17+: No restriction

Class M permit (motorcycles): No passengers, no riding at night, helmet required.
Class M license: Helmet required. (They pull over lots of Rhode Islanders for this, because RI has no helmet laws. You'd have to be a damn fool not to wear one, though.)
