Hey guys, sup? Just got back from MGC about 20 mins ago, and I already am wishing I could have stayed longer. Sorry to duck out on you like that, and looking forward to next year.

I'd like to thank everyone for coming and being such a great help for the show. Couldn't have done it without you!

And yes, that IS me doing Achy Breaky Heart... some guy has a video of it, so watch out!

this year was great. however, imho it was better than last year. it was great to see more benheckers together and introduce myself to some new people. (and pwn nubs at mario kart)

got a bunch of really cheap japanese dreamcast import games, an almost mint-condition genesis in box for twenty bucks, and some other various things.

can't wait for next year.

Gloria and I are unwinding after a looooong 14 hour drive back to Oklahoma today. We had a blast! It was great finally meeting some of you guys!

We first stopped in Chicago for a couple of days - I had never been there before and it was great!

MGC is an interesting affair...

Naturally, Ben brings out his newest 360 portable... and it didn't work for some mysterious reason.
Image

So, he opened it up right there.
Image

It got kind of crowded at our little corner, but it was fun. (I think I managed to catch a goofy expression on every single person in this shot!)
Image

I think they said they were making an NES portable. Busted out the Dremel and everything!
Image

Naturally I had to show off my portables to everyone:

I think Ben approved of my handiwork:

All in all, Gloria and I had a great time!

Who needs pictures when you have an avatar like Skyone's, lol.

I'll have my pictures up later today. I'll also try to get the video I did up and online within a month this year.

I have to admit it was a great time, I had a lot of fun. And I have to again thank Kyle for one of the best ideas at the show. We'll really have to be sure to have as much or more fun next year. As well I'm hoping I can make it there on Friday, to enjoy the other crazy stuff you guys did.

Oh and yeah, I got the best souvenir ever this year too. Ben had the RF adapter he used for the loop back video when re-dubbing Port Washington in the box of free stuff. I grabbed it up and got him to sign it.

Don't have my pics up yet but I'm working on it. Don't feel bad though, I didn't really get any of our booth! Doh! Just some pics of the other areas, like the arcade hall and some other neat stuff like the XBox development unit, which looks like a beige PC case with XBox painted on the side in a strange font. Another random thing I got a picture of, a pinball machine hooked up to a DDR pad for running the flippers. It was flippin hard to play that way. (pun totally intended.)

I didn't really buy anything at the show, because a: I didn't have any money, and b: the only guy selling games for the one system I care to get games for was a bit creepy and also had total rip-off prices. Neo Geo MVS games that is. I knew something was up when one of the guys at the booth came back with a KOF 94 he had bought from that guy and he had payed about $30, which is way to much. (I forget who it was, you know who you are.) I also knew I wasn't going to do well when, after about 30 seconds of talking to the vendor he says, "You're on the NG COM forums aren't you? You all seem to know your prices really well." He proceeds to say he just reeeally needs to get some Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury off his hands cheap, and I do my Monty Python impression: "RUN AWAY!!"

Also, congrats to Sparkfist on getting his MVS up and running. It looks neat so far, and should turn out nicely. Just keep the Jamma harness on straight! It was very exciting when it finally came to life. I felt like saying "IT LIVES, IT LIVES!!" and laughing maniacally, so I did.

Thanks for all the complements on my CMVS, and for all the folks who let themselves get smacked around in Last Blade, KOF 2000, Samurai Shodown 2, etc.

The whole deal was waaaay too much fun! Even with the pain, lol.

Everyone was really cool, with special props to Samus for sticking with me after I hurt myself, and couldn't move very fast. Who'd ever think that you could get hurt so bad just from singing?

Other than the hurtings, it was a freaken great time, and I'm really looking forward to coming down next year, even if I have to take the dangerous chance of coming down by myself...Those roads are pure evil I tell you! That was one long pizza run.........

and now...pics that I took!

Dunno what's up with that white blob..it only appeared in this picture....

And now...for the work pics of the failure....what would've been the greatest Portable NES ever!!

We had to switch bathrooms near the end of our workings...the other john didn't have a lid, so we made do.

Ahhh...a great moment with a bad idea...touching the transformer leads while it was powered up, lol. Fortunatly (and kinda unfortunatly too, since that meant it was broken) there was no electric shock.

I wish the screens weren't dead, as that was the only thing that kept the project from being finished. With no good screens to use, we wound up just giving up, and hittin' the hay.

Haven't had a chance to crop my pictures and scale them properly, etc. yet, but I'll post them when I do.

Just like the pictures you took of Sky and his portable, I couldn't get his face in the picture either because of his hair and the fact that he was all crouched over it and that. LOLed at that. He's like the mystery modder or something.

Hoping to post my pictures later tonight. Stay tuned.

i'm pretty sure i'd want people to wait with me if i blew out my whole body from singing. however, that was THE best rock band session ever: sky on drums, tim and me on guitars, and lorne singing.

i'm curious, though. did you ever get that dreamcast, metallica-lorne?
