I think that makes sense too. It lets people have a much better fair ranking, even if they do not win. If one portable is AMAZING and another one is just excellent, they get rated a 5 and a 4, while the old poll system would mean that the amazing one would get every single vote, and the excellent one would get none.

I second Bacterias idea of having a custom title be the prize. Maybe all the stuff hailrazer donated for first, then custom titles for second and third. Maybe even have different catagories (Most innovative, most features, best case) but I am not sure that we have enough entries to warrant something like that.

That would get to confusing when it gets time to tally votes and stuff. I saw people pick there favorite top 3 (maybe 5 if we get enough entries) and tally the votes.

Since we are going to make it open ballot in a thread I guess we should not allow editing of posts (ie editing of votes) any vote that has the "edited" flag should be thrown out as invalid.

I second that idea. Proof read before you submit your vote!

Agreed. That should be a "no exceptions whatsoever" condition.

Also, what is it with all these "alternate winners"? I like the idea of an open rating system, it can be a constructive criticism thing. Do you really need those "consolation winner" things? So what if you don't win overall. You still got a nice portable, you got a lot of attention and feedback, do you really need a special title in addition?

I'm not entering. Does that mean I can't vote or something?

So? What does my attitude have to do with how people vote on the contest?

LOL!!! first of all, he is older than you.

second of all, the rules thing wasn't even about Triton. it was about Gordon1. has everyone forgotten that...?

however, i do agree that i would love Truck to enter his projects. after all, the more projects there are, the more interesting this contest will be!

I know he is older, I just wanted to see him rant about that fact. Now you come in and spoil it.

Oh yeah! But I thought it was decided that Gordon1 could not enter?....

Edit @rekarp: Mothatrucka has been saying he would not enter because all the rules had been thrown out the window, I just wanted him to join in and lean easy. This is a bit offtopic, but hey, in a 30 page thread, it is inevitable.
