It really shouldn't matter if you choose TAJ or TPS. However, on the data sheet for the TPS, it says they have been optimized for power supply applications. Also on the data sheet is a picture of a PS2 controller; don't ask me why but maybe it is a good omen (or a bad one, considering you are building a portable Nintendo). The TPS are a bit more expensive, but if you are only buying a few, $3 versus $1 is not a big deal.

Really, it shouldn't matter. TPS is "optimized" for power source applications. If you are going to get an IRU120633, then use the follwoing capacitor

This has an ESR (equivalent series resistance) falling in line with the manufacturers recommendations and is about 6mm long (as opposed to some of the others which are around 3mm) which will make it a little easier to work with if you are welding by hand. Since they are cheap (88 cents a pop) buy 5 or 10 so that if you mess up you have a backup.
