true... but if all the other PS2 portable makers managed to get decent life out of 5400mAh, 10000mAh should be good...

hmm... is it possible to relocate the DVD drive to a different place? Or should I just leave it on top of the PS2...

It's the same height as the heatsinking, so I wouldn't bother. The PStwo basically takes up as little space as possible and there's nothing you can do to change it.

if you're trying to make it thinner, then you're not going to accomplish anything by moving it, but if you just want it in a more accessible location, then you can. I just saw that ben moved his so that its in the middle, right under the screen.

Good news!
My friend, connor, his uncle owns a metal shop. It has computer bend stuff, CNC machines, laser cutters, and smelting stuff... also much more, but that is all I remember. And since I know his family, I get it for free!

I may help out there during the summer, and I may convince him to set up a service where you send specs, and we buy and make it, and mail it to you, for a reasonable price... what would you think?

yeah lol...

QUESTION(S):

Should I watch out for anything when it comes time to rip apart the monitor to make it thinner... also, how thin can I make it? Can I move the electronics from the back to the main chassis of the laptop to make it thinner on the screen itself?

How much power does a 15.4 inch ccfl LCD monitor draw?

the monitor probably draws around 40 watts, at 12v.
the monitor can be as thin as the lcd+backlight, assuming you move the screen mobo. (probably about 1/4 inch)
dont touch the back of the lcd. it will leave fingerprints that will show up on screen.

Unless the ribbon cable is really long, no way you can move the controller board to the bottom.
