I say put in F42 and replace the "where to post" sticky with it. Or maybe the Youtube thread.
"Where to post" is required reading. We don't care if "nobody goes to that forum" and by not posting in that forum you're only compounding this alleged problem.
Moving all you peoples' threads is annoying as all hell when you do it all the bloody time, and I am sick to death of hearing that stupid excuse.
Threads belong where they belong.

It appears that we need a way to make it required.bicostp wrote:"Where to post" is required reading.
Same, just give me a format to do it in so I don't have to worry about screwing everything up. I would have helped with the old wiki, but I couldn't really see where I could do anything.Harshboy wrote:I'll write some articles and such (I don't have anything better to do all day, every day of the summer)
Ok just to reinforce what Bic was getting at. It's named Development Center for a reason, it's for developing software or like projects. The wiki fits in there perfectly. Forum42 is meant as a general discussion forum for things that do not fit in any of the other forums. So if you can't find a place to put a thread that makes (common) sense, then it likely should go in Forum42.
As for the formating. I'm a lazy person, truely lazy. And I think something like a template would help to get everyone on the same page as far as layout and content is concerned. Yes I know we'll likely have only a few people working on it, but it will help speed up the process of making the pages, as well editing them.

For a layout, isn't it possible to make one page exactly the way we want it, and then use it to make the other pages?
example:
1. We decide we are going to do a page about the N64 first (we decided this in the discussion thread)
2. We finish it with a nice layout that we all like, and has information organized.
3. (1 week later) We decide we want to do the page about SNES portables (also decided in the discussion thread)
4. We copy all of the N64 code for that wiki page, and paste it into the new BLANK snes page.
5. We edit all of the information as we see fit.
This way, every page will have the same template.

That sounds like a plan, ghostt. We just have to make sure we copy the same template over again, rather than basing each page off the previous one, so the template doesn't deteriorate like messages in the "telephone game".

Ya. Or we could do a "Template Page", where it would have all the basic sections you would need, but for all the text, it would just say "fkljdsfkdlskffsdlkfjlskdjfk" (something like that) or give a description or what should go there. So then you just copy the template page each time. (No excuse for not using it)bicostp wrote:That sounds like a plan, ghostt. As well:bicostp wrote:We should add motherboard dimensions to the quick reference box.
Video screens (acceptable)
Video mods
Soldering Iron (Required)
Portablizing difficulty (so we have a page to point to)
As for the whole template thing. Doesn't Wikipedia in a way to exactly what we need? I'll see about setting up an account tomorrow and checking out the templates they have/use. See if it's possible to steal/borrow them.
